Abstract

Penyakit COVID-19 memiliki potensi besar untuk mengganggu hubungan sosial. Manusia dapat tertular dan mengalami sakit melalui jalur pernafasan atau udara. Penguasaan media dan upaya perlindungan pada manusia berfokus pada upaya perlindungan. Masker pernapasan merupakan media yang mempunyai kemampuan menyerap gas beracun di lingkungan sekitar Berbagai jenis masker memberikan tingkat perlindungan yang berbeda pada pengguna. Pemanfaatan bahan masker yang beredar di pasaran dengan penambahan karbon aktif dapat meningkatkan fungsi masker. Sifat adsorptif karbon yang berpori dalam bentuk matriks yang kaku dengan luas permukaan tinggi. Permukaan karbon mempunyai keistimewaan pada gugus fungsi yang bermacam-macam. Karbon aktif diproduksi dengan suhu tinggi dan aktivasi kimiawi dari limbah biomassa. Pori-pori dalam jaringan kisi karbon aktif memungkinkan pembuangan kotoran dari media gas dan cair melalui adsorpsi. Dengan demikian penyakit COVID-19 yang ditularkan oleh virus dapat dicegah masuk ke pernafasan pengguna melalui penggunaan masker. Jumlah lapisan kain dapat dikombinasikan dengan karbon aktif yang bermanfaat untuk menyerap dan menginfeksi virus karena merupakan adsorben serbaguna penghalang kontaminan organik, anorganik, dan patogen. .
